वाराणसी.  ऐसा माना जाता है कि नव वर्ष आज से लगभग 4,000 वर्ष पहले बेबीलीन नामक स्थान से मनाना शुरू हुआ था। एक जनवरी को मनाया जाने वाला नया वर्ष ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर पर आधारित है। इसकी शुरुआत रोमन कैलेंडर से हुई।  इस पारंपरिक रोमन कैलेंडर का नया वर्ष 1 मार्च से शुरू होता है, लेकिन रोमन के प्रसिद्ध सम्राट जूलियस सीजर ने 46 वर्ष ईसा पूर्व में इस कैलेंडर में परिवर्तन किया था। इसमें उन्होंने जुलाई का महीना और इसके बाद अपने भतीजे के नाम पर अगस्त का महीना जोड़ दिया। दुनियाभर में तब से लेकर आज तक नया साल 1 जनवरी को मनाया जाता है।  हिन्दू धर्म में नववर्ष का आरंभ चैत्र मास की शुक्ल प्रतिपदा से माना जाता है। हिन्दू धार्मिक मान्यता के अनुसार भगवान ब्रह्मा ने इसी दिन सृष्टि की रचना प्रारंभ की थी इसलिए इस दिन से नए साल का आरंभ भी होता है। इस्लामी कैलेंडर के अनुसार मोहर्रम महीने की पहली तारीख को नया साल हिजरी शुरू होता है।   वैसे ही भारत में नया साल सभी स्थानों पर अलग-अलग तिथियों पर मनाया जाता है। ज्यादातर ये तिथियां मार्च और अप्रैल के महीने में पड़ती हैं। पंजाब में नया साल बैशा...
